Day in the Life of a public servant

Morning arrives...

Get ready for work, SO not myself in office wear!

Off to work I roar, ready for another productive day serving the citizens of Akron!

Yup, better get another cup to embrace the joy of public service!

Already hard at work at my desk...

The phone! Smile! Citizens love a caring city worker! It soothes the sting of tax dollars "paying my salary"

How I really feel about said call....

After a long hard day listening to calls about trash, garbage, litter, rats, food poisoning, bats, rats, sending out dog heads for rabies testing, hearing about vile smells, the findings of a persons ashes in an eviction, raccons, squirrels and evil spirits living in peoples attics, excessive dustiness from construction sites, naked people living in condemed buildings and animals left in repossed homes, birds flying overhead and pooping on someones car, and viewing pics of giant ice sculptures of personal body parts and whatnot, I happily shut off the computer and head for the vator....

SO HOW WAS YOUR DAY????

your day appears to be pure heaven. How I would love to take the evil spirit in the attic call. It must be Plusquelic looking in Joe Finley's attic.

That's a day you just gotta take with a smile! The absurdity's got to make you shake your head...a lot.

It never gets boring, I can tell you that. We werent sure what exactly to tell the landlord who found someones ashes left behind during the eviction. We handle the eviction cleanups, but that was above and beyond! It as better than the bug lady who stood at the counter insisting she had bugs coming out of her skin and one in her lip. I was dismayed and felt like scratching, and they laughed at me later and nodded their heads sagely saying things like...oh, that was your first bug person? Let me tell you about the time...blah blah blah. Sometimes I really do crack up laughing at the absurdity of it all.

Hilarious Frau! Better you than me. Whe I worked at a maintainence company in Chattanooga, we had to empty a deceased ladies house who had at least 50 cats in there, many which were feral. We told everyone we spent all day at a cat house.
